Data Protection Complaints Procedure

Effective date: 21 July 2026.

How to complain

Email support@mylegaldocsai.co.uk and state that the message is a data-protection complaint. Explain which information, processing activity, request or incident is disputed and the outcome sought. Do not resend unnecessary case documents.

Acknowledgement

The complaint will be acknowledged within 30 days of receipt. The acknowledgement may request information needed to verify identity, authority or the scope of the complaint.

Investigation

Appropriate enquiries will be made without undue delay. Relevant records, provider activity, retention, security, accuracy, lawful basis and prior requests may be examined. The complainant will be kept informed where the investigation cannot be completed promptly.

Outcome

The outcome and any corrective action will be communicated without undue delay. Possible actions may include clarification, correction, restriction, deletion where applicable, provider enquiry, security action, process change or an explanation that the requested action cannot lawfully be taken.

ICO complaint

A complainant may approach the Information Commissioner's Office. The ICO will commonly expect the concern to have been raised with the controller first. This internal process does not remove any right to contact the ICO or seek another remedy.
